Why Next Move Stays
The difference is what happens after you book
Anybody can send you a list of properties. The part that decides whether corporate accommodation was a good idea is who owns the problem in week three, when the dates move or the boiler stops.
Most of what follows is about that. Some of it is about the dull commercial detail that decides whether your finance team will let you book this way again, which matters more than it sounds.
If you want the process rather than the argument, see how it works.
The short version
- One person owns the requirement from start to check-out
- The support line answers 24 hours a day once a stay has started
- Invoiced to the company, with purchase order numbers where you need them
- We say no when we are not the right answer for the requirement
The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, for anything about a booking. The support line is separate and does not close.
Four things that are different here
None of these is about the accommodation itself. They are about what it is like to be the person at your end who has to make it work.
One person owns it, from enquiry to check-out
You explain the requirement once. You are not handed to a bookings team, then an accounts team, then whoever is on shift when something goes wrong in week three. The person who took the requirement is the person who knows why the dates moved and why your people need to be on that side of the city.
You tell us once, and we take it from there
When something is not right, you are not the middleman between a guest and a landlord. We take ownership of putting it right, including chasing whoever actually has to do the work, and we keep you told. What we will not do is promise you how long a repair takes, because that depends on the property and on somebody else.
A Peterborough company, not a national call centre
The accommodation we arrange is in Peterborough and the surrounding area, and so are we. That means we know the roads, the sites and how long the journey to work actually takes in the morning, rather than how long a map says it takes. It also means that if your requirement is somewhere we cannot cover properly, you get told that straight away.
Set up to be bought by a company
The stay is invoiced to the company, with purchase order numbers where your finance team needs them, and payment terms agreed before anyone travels. Nobody has to put a six-week stay on a personal card and reclaim it through expenses, and nobody has to explain a private landlord to procurement.
The alternatives
How it compares to the alternatives
Each of these is the right answer for some stays. Here is where each one genuinely wins, and where it tends to hurt, so you can tell which situation you are in.
Booking it yourself on a listing site
Genuinely better when it is one person, a short stay, and nobody minds sorting it themselves.
- You are the one comparing listings, and the one chasing when the check-in details do not arrive
- A host cancellation is your problem to solve, usually at short notice
- Payment is on a card, so the cost lands in expenses rather than on an invoice
- Nobody is accountable to your company for the stay going well
A hotel, for several weeks
For a couple of nights, book the hotel. It is the right answer and we will say so.
- Over weeks the room stops being the point: no kitchen, no laundry, nowhere to work properly
- Eating out every night is a real cost that never appears in the nightly rate comparison
- A team ends up scattered across floors, or across two hotels
- Long stays away are harder on people in a hotel room than in somewhere with a front door
An agent, or a private landlord direct
Sensible for a long, fixed let where the dates are certain and will not move.
- Usually built around a fixed term, so shifting project dates are awkward and expensive
- References, deposits and a tenancy agreement before anybody can arrive
- When something breaks, you are the one contacting the landlord
- Furnishing, equipping and setting up utilities may be yours to sort out
If you are weighing up the hotel question in particular, we wrote it up properly: serviced accommodation or a hotel, and how to choose.
The part that happens at eleven at night
Nobody chooses a supplier for the week everything goes smoothly. They choose for the night the heating fails and somebody has to answer the phone.
When that happens, your people ring us, not you. You are not woken up, and you are not put in the middle of a conversation between a guest and a contractor. You get told what you need to know, which is usually not every message.
Here is the honest limit, because it is better said now than discovered later. We will not tell you how long a repair takes. That depends on the property and on whoever has to do the work, and any supplier who gives you a number for it is guessing. What we will do is own the chasing and keep you and your people updated while it happens.
This is the page your people get when they are the ones staying: Guest Help.
What your people get
- Arrival details before they travel, so nobody lands without a key plan
- One number for anything that comes up, answered 24 hours a day
- Somebody who takes the problem on rather than passing it back
One number for all of it: 01733 964574.
Three questions worth asking any supplier
Including us. The full set is on the FAQs page.
Who actually owns the accommodation?
The properties are owned and operated by others. We arrange the accommodation and we take ownership of the stay, which means you deal with us rather than with a landlord or a property manager, and you tell us once when something needs sorting.
What if you are not the right answer for my requirement?
We will tell you. If your people need to be somewhere we cannot cover properly, or a hotel genuinely suits the stay better, saying so costs us one booking and saves you a bad month. Send the requirement and you will get a straight answer either way.
Do we have to commit to anything to see options?
No. There is no account to set up, no portal to learn and nothing to sign before you see options. An enquiry is a conversation, not a commitment.
Try it with one requirement
You do not have to move everything at once. Send us the next requirement that comes up and judge it on how that one goes.
Not sure it suits your situation? See who we help, or send it anyway and we will tell you honestly.
